The Core Genomics Facility (CGF) at UIC specializes in studying global and targeted gene expression, transcriptional regulation, high-throughput genotyping, and molecular cytogenetics.
We apply cutting edge technologies and have expertise and equipment across multiple advanced platforms including Illumina next-generation sequencing, Fluidigm single-cell analyses, Agena Bioscience (former Sequenom) MassARRAY spectrometry, and Affymetrix microarray-based expression profiling, gene regulation, and cytogenetic analyses. We support all aspects of these applications, ranging from sample preparation and experimental design to data analysis and results validation.
To help our users interpret their genomic data, we provide training and access to software packages for gene network analysis, such as MetaCore and Partek Pathway. These analytical packages provide easy to use tools for data visualization and mapping biological networks and interactomes.
