The Scientific Electronics Shop (SES) (aka "Electronics Shop") offers complete electronic services including the maintenance and repair of electronic devices used in research laboratories and offices (the latter including computers, video monitors and printers), and the design and fabrication of customized electronic equipment for research that is not commercially available. The Electronics Shop also maintains much of the sophisticated research instrumentation operated by other RRC facilities. These include mass spectrometers, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, flow cytometers and ancillary equipment such as power supplies and amplifiers. The Electronics Shop works very closely with the Scientific Instrument Shop (SIS) when mechanical expertise is required in the fabrication of equipment. Three Biomedical Electronics Engineers and one Biomedical Electronics Technician staff the Electronics Shop. |
