Scientific Computing Support (SCS) facility provides solutions to research problems and scientific endeavors that require advanced computing tools. Problems related to the needs of users in the analytical RRC facilities are stressed. Such problems include spectroscopy, protein/DNA sequencing and analysis, graphics and imaging, flow cytometric analysis, statistics and statistical modeling, and similar computation intensive techniques. A variety of computer architectures and operating systems are supported (including IRIX, Linux, MacOS, MS-DOS, Windows 3.x/9x/NT/2000/XP, and Solaris). Assistance is provided to investigators and their students with the use of SC hardware and software. |
